Warmly welcome to attend the 8th International Symposium on Thermal-Fluid Dynamics (ISTFD 2027). It is a follow-up conference to the previous seven successful conferences, which were held in Xi’an, China (2019), Beijing, China (2021), Xi’an, China (2022), Nanjing, China (2023), Xi’an, China (2024), Qingdao, China (2025) and Xi’an, China (2026). ISTFD 2027 will be held in Beijing, China on 23-26 July 2027, and is co-organized by Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Beijing Institute of Technology.

Thermal-Fluid Dynamics underpins the energy transition and carbon neutrality goals. It lays the theoretical foundation for broad engineering disciplines including power engineering, environmental technology, energy storage, renewable energy, aerospace, nuclear energy, hydrogen energy and mechanical engineering, as well as emerging interdisciplinary fields such as zero-carbon technologies, micro- and nanofluidics and advanced thermal processes. The discipline drives breakthroughs in scientific theories, innovative technologies, industrial transformation and societal sustainable development.

ISTFD aims to grow into a leading annual international forum to advance knowledge and technological progress in Thermal-Fluid Dynamics and related emerging, frontier and interdisciplinary subjects.

Continuing its mission to promote global collaboration and academic exchange, ISTFD 2027 will showcase cutting-edge advances and latest research achievements across thermal-fluid dynamics. The symposium programme will feature keynote lectures, invited presentations, oral contributions and poster sessions, alongside formal and informal networking opportunities for researchers and engineers worldwide. We sincerely invite participants from all countries with diverse academic and industrial backgrounds, with special encouragement for young scientists and students.
